The 5-day conference concluded with an awards ceremony where Mr.Holtzman was recognized by his national and international professional peers.
"I am honored and humbled to have been considered for this award," said Mr. Holtzman. "It really means a lot coming from such phenomenal photographers."
The photographer of the year award is based on a variety of criteria, including:
- Continued excellence in aerial photography
- Public exposure in publications, exhibitions or television
- Outstanding achievement within the past year
No stranger to the public spotlight, Mr. Holtzman's B-2 image placed second in the annual World Press Photo contest.
He plans to attend the World Press Photo awards ceremony in Amsterdam this spring.
